Let's Go Play! A #GenBetter Initiative

Let it be said that this is not a sponsored post. I just thought it was worth a share in the name of getting kids active and as much into good old fashioned play as my generation was when I was young (granted, that makes me sound really old).  Regardless, spring is here and we're finally getting a bit of sun so it may be time to wrestle those devices out of the hands of kids and force them out into the Vitamin D.

There's nothing better than a good adventure playground and if you're in Melbourne's inner west, why not check out this new interactive play installation 'Mimi the Muttaburrasaurus' at McNish Reserve in Yarraville? As part of Medibank's #GenBetter campaign, Mimi the giant dinosaur has been created to encourage more outside play for children and families. 'Mimi' stands at three metres tall and seven metres long and not only can the kids climb around inside her tummy, slide down her tail and hide in her giant eggs, but she also has a megaphone allowing kids to develop their best "ROAR". Very cool. I know that's got Miss Six's name written all over it.

Here a little peek at the Mimi installation via Medibank's #GenBetter promotion:

What a refreshing initiative from Medibank - no doubt we'll be making the trip down there to check it out these hols. McNish Reserve can be found in Clare St in Yarraville and the playground will be open for play from today 8th September, with a public launch on Saturday 13th September from 10.00am.

  1. That's awesome! What a great initiative from Medibank. I hope loads of other corporates jump on this bandwagon and make kids' parks into something amazing. x

    1. Completely agree, Bron! Thanks for your comment - I couldn't help but support this initiative because it's pretty rare to see big business doing something for the community without a payoff. For that, Medibank deserve our interest and support. Soph xx
